How to take part – FAQS & Submission guidelines
What is a Local Urban Room?
Urban Rooms are your place to have a say in the future of your hometown. It’s a space for you to explore and learn about your local area, find out what developments are planned nearby, and share your own ideas and suggestions. Everything you share will help to feed into decisions made about planning and development in your town.
How can you take part?
You can take part by adding your ideas, comments and suggestions right here on the website. There’s no need to log in, just explore and start adding! Or, why not come along to one of our in-person pop-up events? Check the latest News & events for those.
Why take part?
Great places work well for everyone. That’s why we think everyone should have a say in what happens locally. Everything you share in the Urban Room helps us shape and improve our plans for the local area – so make sure your voice gets heard! Together, we can build a better future for our place.
What can you share?
We’re interested in all sorts of contributions – from how your place makes you feel, to your feedback on our plans, to your own ideas and improvements. For that reason, there are a few different ways to take part online. You can choose one or all of these, whatever works for you!
Pin your thoughts, ideas and experiences to a map of your local place. Perhaps there are areas that make you feel unsafe, places you’d like to celebrate, or ideas to make things better? Add a pin to share your thoughts.
Discover what’s happening locally and join the discussion by adding comments to blog posts, ideas and proposals. You can like or comment on other people’s posts, or, submit your own articles to share your ideas, local knowledge and suggestions.
Complete our survey to let us know what you think about the latest plans. These surveys change over time, so be sure to check back for the latest!
